In 2017, the PATRIZIA KinderHaus-Stiftung, together with Welthungerhilfe, is building a new school in Syangeni, Kenya. In addition, there is an administrative and sanitary building, as well as a new water tank to provide enough clean drinking water for the school.
Syangeni is a small village situated in an agricultural area, bordering the wilderness of Kenya’s largest national park “Tsavo”. Education is becoming more and more important here to find a paid job. The parents, who are mostly illiterate, are therefore very keen that their children learn to calculate, to write and to read. At the Syangeni school, therefore, not only state teachers but also teachers who are privately paid by the parents’ association teach.
