Deep in the Peruvian rainforest, a 1,5 hour drive from Satipo, lies Sondoveni, a village home to 60 families. Together with its project partner Creciendo PATRIZIA KinderHaus-Stiftung opened a PATRIZIA KinderHaus in 2014. This secondary school enables many children of the surrounding villages to receive a secondary education so that they can go on to vocational training from classes 7 to 11.
The school, which consists of two houses, was designed by architecture students of the University of Stuttgart and provides not only classrooms, but also a multi-purpose room that can be shared, as well as a library area, toilets and showers. The secondary school teacher lives in the school building and teaches all subjects from biology and maths to agriculture.
