Since 2006, young people are being professionally trained as construction workers or electricians at the Nelson Mandela Educational Centre (NMEC), a school for vocational education. With the construction of a dormitory for the school PATRIZIA KinderHaus together with the Grünhelme e.V. made a major contribution to the school business, as long journeys to school are a common problem, preventing young people from gaining further education.
After years of success, the Grünhelme e.V. (Green Helmets) association handed over the training centre and accommodation project to be managed locally. The training centre is a great success. Many teachers are former NMEC students who were also residents at the PATRIZIA KinderHaus. Now they are passing on the knowledge they have acquired to successive generations.
